Roast Pork Rice!

Check out this stall located at The Bencoolen!
It sells Roast Meats like duck, char siew, roast pork, blah blah....I had rice with roast pork and roast duck!
It was awesome.
The roast pork melts in your mouth and the crackling is really crispy!
The duck was not bad too, but I liked the roast pork better =)
Prices start from 3bucks per plate.
Its located near Sim Lim Square.
Gets pretty packed at dinner time though but it helps that they have fast and efficient service!

Salmon Don!

Generous portion of nice juicy salmon laid over a bed of fluffy white Japanese rice, smothered with sweet teriyaki sauce I presume....
Oh! Garnished with tempura crumbs and spring onions too!Well I hafta admit that most school food sucks....kinda i guess...
So when you find something that's real nice, you would just keep going back!
To cut it short, the Japanese Stall at NUS Engineering Canteen is a real GEM!!!
They use fresh and good quality stuff here, so the drawback is just waiting i guess..
So far I've tried the Salmon Don, Katsu Don and Rosu Katsu set =P

Tanglin Halt a.k.a "Damn Ol'skool"

Seriously, check out Tanglin Halt Road.
Its like super duper "old-school"! Go roam around the shop-houses and hawker centre.
Sniff the air, take in the sights, TRY THE FOOD.
Its cheap and good!Yy and I managed to try the Char Kuay Tiao and Mee Pok (Dry version).
Its from 2 different stalls but I can't remember the stall unit number. Erm so yea folks, spot the plate/bowl color??
Anyways, the Char Kuay Tiao was really good and Yy said it was the best she tried!
The cockles were fresh and tasty, the noodles were generously fried with delicious sweet black sauce...giving it an awesome aroma!
As for the Mee Pok, the fishballs were bouncy and nice...the mee pok was flavorful however I can't seem to be eating Mee Pok right. Everytime I eat, it gets soggy before I finish. Damn.

IKEA: More than just furnitures

Oh man I think the title of my post is beyond cheesy. :\

Sometime last week, Brenda, YY and I raced in the rain to get to IKEA because we were starving like mad and I've been craving for the food there. And I love eating with more people because that means you get to order different dishes and satisfy my want of trying everything on the menu. See, I'm greedy like that!

chicken wings!chicken wing

We ordered 6 pieces of chicken wings to share. Nearly every table had these chicken wings on them and we got too greedy so we decided to order it as well. The chickens were good, it was too oily, the skin of the chicken was crispy and there were plenty of yummy juice in the chicken.

poached salmon

For the mains, I took the poached salmon. The salmon was good but the reason why I love this was actually the broccoli and the sauce. It's just boiled broccoli but I love how soft it is and it taste awesome when you eat it together with oodles of sauce. Brilliant.

fish 'n' chips

Brenda had the day's special which was Fish 'n' Chips. It was really worth the price considering how there were 2 slices of fresh fish and a very generous helping of chips.

meatballs!cream of broccoli

YY ordered the Meatballs set which consisted of 10 meatballs, soup of the day and coffee/tea. Soup of the day was Cream of Broccoli and we were skeptical of it because of the weird green color and well, we're not that big a fan of broccoli. Surprisingly though, soup turned out to be really good! Meatballs were fantastic, I can never get enough of them meatballs. Yum!

diam cake

And to end the entire meal, greedy Brenda coerced us into ordering the Diam cake as well. It was really good though and we finished everything. The generous sprinkle of Diam chocolate bits on top added a very crunchy taste to it. It was sweet but yet wasn't too overpowering. And I'm kind of amazed by the many layers to it.
