Can't Decide on Your Drinks?

Overwhelming choices can make one pretty indecisive at times... So at the end of day, one might be so tired or frustrated with making choices that he or she would just say, "Anything la!" and perhaps "Whatever la" too. No worries about wasting your brain cells on what to drink next time cos there's :

Whatever!

Anything is available too! The difference between Whatever and Anything is that- the latter is carbonated. Well, you still have to make your choice of having carbonated or non-carbonated drink. Hmm.. at least it's better than deciding among overwhelming choices right? haha =P

Crepes, crepes, crepes

This post will go down as one of my most efficient and prompt entries of late. Highly attributed to the fact that photos was sent to me very quickly and I was bugged to post this.

Anyway, we had desserts at Crepes & Cream on Thursday night. This place serves dessert crepes and crepes as mains and each crepe, regardless of the ingredient in it, cost only $3.90! This makes is very, very affordable. Only minus point about it is that the ingredients used, like the bananas, were really very minimal but I guess that's expected considering the cost. But on a general note, the crepes managed to satisfy our growling tummy!

Mango Tango: with vanilla ice cream (because they were out of mango), mango bits and drizzled with syrup.

Carribean Cruise: with vanilla ice cream, banana slices and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

Choco Crave: with chocolate ice cream, crunched brownie bits and drizzled with chocolate sauce.

Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie

The cake above is absolutely delicious.. (from the outlook of it, you can tell that it's pretty sinful. But do give it a try!) You can find this at Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie.
Do check out this place for more cakes and desserts! Their macarons are apparently very nice and famous. I shall try it one day!

Yummy food from Taiwan - Last Part

Yummy food from Taiwan - Last Part

And so, we were back to Taipei after a few days in Hualian. For our first dinner back in Taipei, we went to Din Tai Feng:

The must-order: Xiao Long Bao

I love it when you bite into it and the gravy/ juice (you might want to call it) seeps out.. Oooo

Zhu Pa Dan Chao Fan (Pork Chop Fried Rice):
I found this much tastier than the one in our local DTF.

Zha Jiang Mian:
The noodles and the mince pork is delicious! I finished my small bowl within mintues.

Suan La Tang:
We hesitated for very long before we ordered this (recall the Suan La Tang in Part 1). When we finished all our food, we decided to give it a try since we were there. and the results was... ...this one is much much tastier!!! Haha.. so our conclusion was that the weird taste in the soup in Part 1 was the vinegar and not the pig's blood( since this one has pig's blood too)

For the next day's breakfast: KFC

Mocha

KFC egg tarts

Dont they just make you drool? It's actually very good. Initially, i expected it to be so-so only because i dont think KFC would be good in their egg tarts. But i was wrong.

Egg Tart - Caramel flavour

Tea (Dilmah brand)

And our lunch at a Cafe:
Stir-fried Pasta

Set Meal:
i forgot the name of this set because i forgot to note down the Chinese names. (Btw, it's pretty hard to remember the dishes' names when they are in Chinese). Okay, name aside. This plate is very appetising! First the layout of the food and second the taste is just right for me!

Then we snacked at one of the stall at the Gong Guan night market:

Fried "Dang Hun"

Yu Su Geng Ban Tiao:
The noodles is abit like Mee Huan Kuay. And the Fish crackers taste nicer when u soak it in the gravy.

Dan Hua Tang

After walking through the night market, our legs were tired and we found a cafe to sit down. Of 'cos we grabbed some food as well:

Rose Cranberry Tea (with Waffle-like Biscuit):
Dip the waffle down into the tea and eat it! Yummy~
and the Tea is very sweet. I love it!

Ice Latte and Cheesecake

One of my Fave: Baked Rice!

Mos Burger for lunch:
Sweet & Sour Chicken Burger

They have all kinds of beverages, in attractive packaging.

And their brands of mineral water is quite interesting.. the first one is Duo He Shui (More Water) and the second one is Shui Guan Ni (Who Cares?)

And our last dinner in Taipei, at a Pasta Cafe:

Mushroom Pasta with Tomato Puree, Cream-based

Vongole

Tomato-based Pasta

And this... i forgot the name of this pasta. haha.. Well, we all enjoyed our pasta cos it's yummy yummy!

Breakfast:
"I Love Milk"

Before headin off to airport, my friend and i bought Sushi from their convenient store:

and I love this one too!! The rice is not hard at all! =)

Yummy food from Taiwan - Part 3

Yummy food from Taiwan - Part 3 , featuring the food we ate in Hualian!

Our guide for the day, (big) Liu Jie, help us get this delicious pack of takeaway.. it comes in a wooden box and this set has pork, egg, vegetables, "cai por", ginger, beancurd and sausage (i think). I like the rice.. it's abit like japanese rice - a little sticky. And this takeaway still taste nice even when it's not piping hot, and by that i mean the side dishes and the rice would not turn soggy after some time..

Chi Shang Bian Dang (Chi Shang Takeaway)

Our Landlady, (small) Liu Jie, organized a BBQ for those staying at her "home hostel" and we joined in. Their BBQ is full of Meat.. It's really "Kao Rou Hui". We all enjoyed the food at the BBQ:

This one is super-duper nice!! It's abit like soft-shell crab.. Very crunchy and tasty. They call this little crab "Lang Hua Xie". These are caught by Liu Jie's husband at the beach. The deep-fried vegetable is called " Jiu Chen Ta". It's not bad becuase it has this special aroma that I like.

Bacon and Chicken Wing:
The wing is super-duper good too!! I love it~

A Skewer of Pork:
did i mention they eat alot of Pork ( and beef too actually) in Taiwan? it's meat overdose!

Pork Chop:
]They usually eat pork chop with bread at their bbq.

Maize:
okie.. this maize is a little burnt.. but it's delicious! somehow their maize is tastier than our local ones.. and it's easier to bite the kernels off the core.

Taiwan Sausage!

Octopus' Mouth (to be honest i forgot it's Squid or Octopus) Well, let's call it Sotong la.. more familiar with it, haha. =X :
I didn't know what was it when i ate it.. our of our of my group, only i ate this.. It's pretty alright.. except that i got tired chewing the last part and spat it out.. = S
And can you spot the flat fishcake alike food behind?
It's called "Tian Bu La".

Inside this wooden container is Drunken Prawns!! they just leave it above the BBQ stove and heat it until it's ready for eating. not too bad. This could be brought from the supermarket if im not wrong..

I don't know the name of this food.. But it's abit like one of our Yong Tau Foo Fishcake.

And now, I shall introduce what we eat for breakfast at the stall behind our "home-hostel":

"Zu Pa Jian Bing":
Their "Jian Bing" is a little like crepe, though not exactly the same. you can order it with different fillings.. this one comes with Pork Chop.

" Jiu Chen Ta Jian Bing"

Triple Deck Sandwich:
Pork Chop ( different style from the one in Jian Bing), Egg, Ham and Cucumber.
This one is one of my friend's favourite, and i think it's yummy too!

Carrot Cake

And our takeaway lunch to the Ocean Park:
Jiao Zi:
The four of us shared 20 of it.
It's delicious! So much so that we bought it again (for supper) on our last night in Hualian.

Xiao Long Bao:
The four of us shared 10.

For our dinner, we were craving for steamboat because the weather had been very cold since we've reached Hualian. We went to a steamboat restaurant- Ah Guan Hou Guo - recommended by (big) Liu Jie. The food there is nice and filling and guess how much it cost? It cost us like slightly less than SGD 10 person (when converted)!! Too bad i dont have alot of pictures of the steamboat dinner because we werent allowed to take pictures.. and we secretly took a few only:

This is the basic set of ingredients when you order their steamboat. You get to choose the soup base (and the cost varies according to the different soup base) and you can add on some other dishes ( of 'cos at additional cost too). We ordered extra "Dong Fen", Straw Mushroom, Chicken, Crabstick and Frozen Beancurd. The Chicken was very fresh and very very tender! We were told that people in Hualian don't eat frozen meat. Whatever they eat is fresh.

The soup base that my friend and i shared comes with this pot of tea. When the soup boils, we pour the tea into the steamboat.
My two other friends ordered Kim Chi soup base.. it's very very NICE!! so much so that my friend and I keep stealing their soup! hahha..

And the next day morning we were back to our breakfast stall:
Soya Milk

"Ba Hu (meat floss) Jian Bing"

Corn Nuggets

Teppanyaki noodles

French Toast

Over at Shin kong Chao Feng Ranch and Resort :
Fresh Ice Cream!!:
Made from the milk gotten from the cows in the farm. And I love this one!

I suppose this is called Milk Custard. Not bad too.

Cherry Tomato:
I took a bite and the juice squirt out and landed on my t-shirt! It's very sweet, sour and juicy!

A basket full of cherry tomatoes:
You can sample as much as you want, but you cannot take it away with you.

From the stalls along the street:
Fried Yam and Fried Carrot Cake

Fried Prawn Cracker:
There's some fillings inside this prawn cracker - not too bad.
The chilli that goes with this is superb! Spicy and nice!

"Dau Huay" with Pearls

Cream Puff:
This one is absolutely yummy! (small) Liu Jie bought this for us and i supposed she got it from a bakery.
